This talisman combines the
archetypal eight spoked wheel (order through time) with two other
symbol forms from the cultures of the East. In the center lies a Pi
Wheel, a Chinese symbol of Good Fortune and Protection.
The
small hole at the center symbolizes the individual spirit and the
surrounding circle represents the divine. The stylized shapes extending
out in opposite directions from the center form the Vajra, or double
thunderbolt, of Tibetan Buddhism.
The Vajra
symbolizes the ability of insight and enlightenment to come from any
direction and to strike in an instant.
